April 29, 2014 - To many people, today will be just another day. It will be a Wednesday work day for most of us, myself included. But there are 58,449 reasons why the day is significant. April 30, 1975, was the day the Vietnam war ended. The 58,449 is the number of Americans who died in that war.We went to war because, for many of us, and that includes those who were drafted, it was a simply a matter of duty. We did what our country asked us to do, so we marched off to a place most of us never heard of.

April 03, 2014 - A ceremony was held at Da Nang International Airport on Wednesday to repatriate what are believed to be the remains of three American servicemen who went missing in action (MIA) during the Vietnam War.The remains were set to be transported to Hawaii, where they will undergo DNA testing to try to confirm their identities.
The remains were recovered during the 114th Joint Field Activity (JFA), which took place from February 17 to April 2 with four excavation teams in the provinces of Bac Lieu, Tra Vinh, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai and Kon Tum, according to Colonel Dao Xuan Kinh, deputy director of Vietnam's Office for Seeking Missing Persons (VNOSMP).
This is the 130th repatriation of U.S. remains from Vietnam since 1973.
The same day, a similar ceremony was held in Cambodia to repatriate the remains believed to be of three American servicemen missing in action during the Vietnam War. read more>>>
