Oct 12, 2011 - Jeff Darlington has lived under the Person Street bridge for a year.He's one of three veterans among a revolving door of homeless people who live by the water, in what they refer to as Tent City.
On Wednesday, Darlington and some of his neighbors were among dozens of homeless veterans receiving a variety of services at Fayetteville's Festival Park.
The event, a collaborative effort between the Fayetteville Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Fort Bragg and about two dozen local service providers, marked the start of a national VA outreach campaign to address homelessness among veterans.
The Fayetteville VA was one of 28 sites nationwide to participate in the kickoff, officials said. read more>>>
