16th September 2011 - New York Fashion Week saw a group of women veterans trading their combats for couture.Their cameo role at one of the world's biggest and most beautiful fashion showcases was part of Fatigues to Fabulous, a national campaign that draws attention to women personnel's massive contribution to the U.S. Armed Forces.
20 per cent of today's U.S. veterans are women - and representing them were six military beauties, who looked every bit part of the fashion set as they took their turn marching at the Lincoln Center.
Phyllis Greenberger, President of the Society for Women's Health Research, said to CBS' The Early Show: 'The point of Fatigues to Fabulous is to put a spotlight on the women veterans and to get people to pay attention, understand what they've sacrificed.' read more>>>
