A great program, especially for Veterans, but like any and all of these types of care, and more, programs, they need real good regulation and oversite to make sure they're not being abused, the Veterans themselves as well as the Finances etc.!

The veteran who is being cared for in the Cambridge, Iowa, Medical Foster Home is my 86 year old uncle a WWII veteran. I can assure you the VA went the extra mile to insure that the home is safe and caring. The family went through extensive background checks and training. VA staff--nurse, physical therapist, counselor, nutritionist, etc.--visit the home on a regular basis providing a far superior level of care to that he received in a Des Moines nursing home for far less cost and all in a loving family environment. This program should be replicated in every state as soon as possible.
