Now get away from the conservative ideology, excused by them as a 'cost of doing business', not trickle down but faucet flow up economics, from bottom to the top tier!
These groups can only help a few Veterans, even the large National ones, many that aren't big struggle and fight for donations to even do that! The many that have established successful programs have problems seeking grants to expand on from the people served, i.e. the Government, just as the Government agency charged to uphold the Promises of Those Served, the Veterans Administration, has with obstructed budgets and unfunded passed legislation. Not built as promised, certainly not upgraded as advances are made in many area's and most certainly not maintained especially in relation to War Veterans and each conflict and long deadly destructive occupations!
The Millions spent, not just on these lavish perks but in the principles and execs comp and much more within, stripped away that many more Veterans that could have used the help and those helped are done so as the principles watch the bottom lines!
Mar 10, 2016 - The two top executives of Wounded Warrior Project were fired Thursday by the board of directors.
Americans donate hundreds of millions of dollars each year to the charity, expecting their money will help some of the 52,000 wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
But CBS News found Wounded Warrior Project spends 40 to 50 percent on overhead, including extravagant parties. Other veterans charities have overhead costs of 10 to 15 percent.
Wounded Warrior Project's Chief Executive Officer, Steven Nardizzi, and Chief Operating Officer, Al Giordano, were fired after a meeting Thursday afternoon in New York.
By appealing to America's generosity, Wounded Warrior Project raised more than a billion dollars in donations since 2003 -- $300 million in 2014 alone.
But while the money was pouring in, it was also flowing out on lavish employee conferences -- $26 million in 2014.
"Let's get a Mexican mariachi band in there, let's get maracas made with the WWP logo put them on every staff member's desk. Lets get it catered, have a big old party," said Eric Millette, a retired army staff sergeant. read more>>>
As the country follows the GOPer meme's and slams the VA personal for the problems, decades now, that were created by these congressional reps and supported by the people served!
These recent wars and results from, DeJa-Vu Veterans as well, Still aren't paid for!
DeJa-Vu: “With no shared sacrifices being asked of civilians after Sept. 11", Decades and War From, All Over Again!! Especially for the Corporate and Wealthy Community, investors in Defense Industries, and for these, Afghanistan and Iraq, came Two Huge Tax Cuts, with more sweetheart deals to same from states and the fed!!
As a side note on the total obstruction, decades and wars from, with the purpose to privatize for corporate profit and little to no regulation of, except within the eventual greatly scaled down agency in Washington, someone has to be blamed and country still needs to pretend it's actually 'supporting' the few who serve them. Did I add added fee's to supplement the bottom lines of the corporate welfare, still under deficits so borrowed, from the treasury:
A lead Veterans obstructor, GOP poser patriot privatizer, steppin down!! Sadly there's still plenty of GOPers to fill that needed void, to hold plenty of Congressional hearings that aren't designed to help the VA but attack the personal of, and years to come of those served still not upholding their promises!! And most of the 99%plus served like it that way!!
March 10, 2016 - House Veterans' Affairs Committee Chairman Miller to retire after 8 terms
“We are dealing with veterans, not procedures—with their problems, not ours.” —General Omar Bradley, First Administrator of the Veterans Administration
