The man who brought a rifle into a downtown Fayetteville church on New Year's Eve returned Sunday to apologize, according to the pastor, City Councilman Larry Wright."He really didn't do anything wrong," said Wright, pastor of Heal the Land Outreach Ministries on Hall Street. "He made a bad choice bringing a gun into a church."
Fayetteville police have identified the man as Gregory Boone, who is 32 and lives on Cool Spring Street downtown.
Boone has not been charged with a crime, Police Chief Harold Medlock said Monday.
"We are still investigating other aspects of that case," said Medlock, who commended Wright and his congregation for how they handled the incident. "One of the things we have to do is figure out where that weapon came from."

However this ends up for them it won't be as much about the religion but about a community of understanding people, that church and it's flock, offering the support for them. It takes a village, instead of the loneliness of an individual trying to cope!!
