If the VA had been properly funded, especially as to our wars and these past decades, they would have already been using advanced technologies!! Only needing to advance with thus saving costs, while giving the promised care need to all those who've served them when they need same, and eliminating the many very costly problems, over and over, that ripple out causing even more costly problems. That those that charged to make sure the people served, so eager to ignore many issues or just outright deny many even exist, are upholding their promises wouldn't be looking for oft repeated 'scandals' to use, and spread out through and extremely lazy journalism of the media, in attacking the mostly dedicated VA employee's with!!
January 16, 2015 - You might only know it from "Jeopardy!" but IBM's famous Watson technology has found a new use. Veterans Affairs plans to use it as part of a pilot program to quickly search electronic medical records. If it works as planned, it'll allow VA doctors to spend more time with their patients. December 15, 2014 - The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has begun a two-year pilot to study innovative approaches to quickly search electronic medical records and medical literature for relevant published studies. During the pilot, VA will assess how the technology may accelerate evidence-based clinical decisions.“Physicians can save valuable time finding the right information needed to care for their patients with this sophisticated and advanced technology,” said Interim Under Secretary for Health Carolyn M. Clancy, M.D. “A tool that can help a clinician quickly collect, combine, and present information will allow them to spend more time listening and interacting with the Veteran.
