11/05/14 - Now that the midterm elections are over, Michelle Obama is joining forces with some new, extra-cool partners.The first lady is seen chatting with one of the waddling, computer-animated stars of the upcoming DreamWorks movie, “Penguins of Madagascar,” in a clip released Wednesday by Got Your 6, a nonpartisan military veteran empowerment campaign.
“I want to talk to you today about a group of people that inspires me everyday: our troops, veterans, and their families,” Obama says directly to the camera, before being interrupted by one of her tuxedo-colored feathered friends.

05 November 2014 - A special "Doc McStuffins" episode continues Disney's legacy of support for military families through a storyline that gently reflects common emotions young children face but find difficult to express when a parent or loved one is deployed. The episode of Disney Junior's acclaimed series will be presented on Veterans Day, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11 (9:30 a.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. As part of the Joining Forces initiative, First Lady Michelle Obama will host military families for a private screening at The White House on Monday, November 10.In the story titled "Training Army Al," Doc McStuffins encourages her toy friends to find comfort and strength when their pal, the soldier action figure Army Al, is called to duty and will soon be separated from them, if even for a trip into the woods with Donny's scouting troop. As Lambie, Stuffy, Hallie, Chilly and Bronty fret that Al might get hurt, broken, or not come home at all, it's up to Doc to rally them to help Al be his best and to support each other. A Disney Publishing storybook inspired by the episode will be available beginning Tuesday, December 2.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 6, 2014 – First Lady Michelle Obama and an all-star cast hosted military children at the White House today for a workshop in advance of the taping of a concert for the PBS “In Performance at the White House” series.Country legend Willy Nelson, rapper Common, Navy vet and songwriter Ted Peterson and Army Sgt. Christiana Ball, a singer who won the Army’s Rising Star competition, joined the first lady in the East Room. Robert Santelli, the executive director of the Grammy Museum, moderated the discussion.
“During this workshop, we’re going to be talking about music in our national life -- how it can move us and inspire us, and bring us together,” the first lady said.
