Austin Maxwell showcased his senior project Wednesday night at the Heydel Fine Arts Center and shared his journey and thoughts in creating the project.
“It’s definitely as passion to get help for those who can’t help themselves,” said Maxwell, “especially veterans because they sacrificed their lives for all of us.”
Maxwell’s project consisted of 10 pieces of original artwork created to depict the harsh reality of veterans who suffer from posttraumatic stress disorder.
The pieces included a charcoal line drawing, “Times” and “Life” magazine covers, a magazine article spread, a book cover poster and an 8-foot-tall wooden military tank replica.
All works are titled after different aspects of PTSD that veterans suffer. Titles include, “Wondering Mind,” “The Struggle Home,” “Never-ending casualties,” and “Mind Trap.” read more>>>
