September 12, 2014 - During my keynote remarks, I told them that employers everywhere are looking for veterans to bring their mission-driven focus and leadership to their businesses − not out of charity, but because veterans make great employees. I talked about the demand for their entrepreneurial spirit, especially in STEM fields, where both women and veterans are underrepresented, and the fact that, as women veterans, we have already proven we can succeed in a male-dominated world. I also took the time to share the resources that the Labor Department offers both job seekers and employers looking to hire veterans, because I know that many of them will be business leaders soon, looking to find great veterans to work for them.
