They have had the same needs for Decades and the flag waving, Poser, patriotic Wars of, and not just in the care issues and facilities!! As those 99%plus served, with their blessings, totally ignored the needs, many issues from and even denied issues existed, think PTS and Agent Orange and Gulf War Syndrome to name but only a few!! These two recent wars brought out most of, think Walter Reed and that was Defense Department medical care, what doesn't happen especially under conservative ideologies when in controlling Government agencies and the purse strings in Congress, thanks to those served!
Much of the ignored and denied were starting to be addressed, Finally, under the Shinseki administration and only able to do with the help of the Entire Obama administration Cabinet and personal around the administration!!
September 11, 2014 - The Department of Veterans Affairs needs “tens of thousands” more personnel working in VA hospitals and clinics to meet patient demand, the new VA Secretary, Robert “Bob” McDonald, told lawmakers Tuesday at a hearing of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee. The size of the staff shortage, McDonald said, explains why VA has launched “a big recruiting effort” which he kicked off recently with visits to Duke University and University of Pennsylvania medical schools to tell students there why “VA is where they want to work.”
Congress is pressing to clarify VA staff shortage as the department struggles to recover from a patient wait-time scandal, demand for care grows due to a force drawdown, and the nation at large also copes with a shortage of health workers, particularly mental health care capacity. read more>>>
These recent wars have yet to be paid, no conservatives offsets called for as the costs were rubber stamped by them, for and, DeJa-Vu, especially the results from. Deficits mean the budgets are still mostly borrowed and with continuing conservative obstruction of same, seeking to privatize for corporate profits, only, with the ability if privatize to then build bigger budgets for bigger bottom lines, still grossly under funded when military are returning from, not one, war theaters, Again!
