September 2, 2014 - The women, which includes Illinois congresswoman Tammy Duckworth all bonded while recovering from the injuries they suffered in Iraq and Afghanistan. But now they can all bond over the new chapter of their life — motherhood.Four female Iraq veterans who bonded over the loss of their limbs are now sharing a much happier experience together.
The women told the "Today" show about first getting wounded while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan but then finding each other at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. And now the women have all opened a new chapter of their lives by becoming mothers or pregnant.
"I am so thrilled that I'm gonna be a mother here in just — four months," Illinois Rep. Tammy Duckworth told the show. She was an Army captain who lost both of her legs when the helicopter she was co-piloting was shot down.

They will join their fellow amputees by becoming mothers: Dawn Halfaker's son Raice was born four months ago and Danielle Green-Byrd gave birth last month to her son Daniel, the show reported. read more>>>
