You might want your paid for by the tax payer staff to follow the Veterans' Administrations Press Releases as the VA, still under funded and again with wars adding to the people served responsibility and needs causing much of that funding to be borrowed and thus passed on to the next generations, Deja-Vu all over again. You can search for previous that address many Veterans' issues including what this VA did with their cut of the Recovery {stimulus} Funds that enhanced and added many long needs while creating jobs in communities that were hard hit by the collapsed economy. Or visit the VAntage point blog
And visit the many issues of finally recognizing by this Veterans Administration and this Executive Administrations Cabinet. What the Country choose to ignore from our previous decades and wars of: The devastating effects on Test Vets and from PTS, Agent Orange, Homelessness, more recent the Desert Storm troops Gulf War Illnesses, Gulf War Exposures with the very recent affects from In-Theater Burn Pits and oh so so much more as these are but a few of the issues!
Hundreds of Thousands of Veterans' that have been long ignored and maligned by previous VA's, many now passed on, and the whole Country and through their representatives and still are as the peoples representatives maintains the under funding of the needs of the peoples responsibility the Veterans' Administration, republicans still seeking to privatize for corporate profit!
You or that staff may want to pay visits to the White House Veterans' Issues page or the Joining Forces site page, sign up for updates or even google search terms, so you stay on top, not only Veterans' issues but Military and their Families issues.
How about visiting the Department of Labor site and it's helping the Veterans' Administration, some requiring legislation that has been pushed by the Administration and not by congress, especially the house, some not, but helping in ways the VA is short funded on.
Or how about the Department of Housing and Urban Development related to Veterans' issues, including now many veterans of these two recent conflicts.
And there's the Department of Education and Military Families and Veterans'
Ya see a good CiC's, and the Officers serving or retired like Gen Shinseki who continue that leadership and not shilling for high paying defense corporations positions, congress as the peoples reps fails at, first responsibility are to those serving and to not just beat the drums in sending them into harms way, or who have served by fulfilling the countries responsibilities to them, or try as that country doesn't!
As to arming the Syrian opposition Senator. You do remember our arming the mujaheddin against the Soviet invasion and occupation don't you. With CIA operative bin Laden as a middle man for those arms dealings. Then the U.S. abandoning the promises to the Afghan people as quick as it abandoned the missions after 9/11, which was one of the main forces in bringing about the bin Laden led al Qaeda ideology that has spread as to the policies of the early years of this decade thus causing enhanced needs to this day, including now in Iraq, Syria and more with any oppositions to be helped with great caution!
