Registry for Veterans who may have been exposedVA's Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit Registry will allow OEF/OIF/OND and 1990–1991 Gulf War Veterans exposed to burn pit smoke and other airborne hazards to document their exposures and report health concerns. Veterans will enter information through a web-based questionnaire and have the opportunity to obtain an evaluation.
As part of developing this registry, we asked for public comments on the proposed questionnaire (263 KB, PDF) by August 20, 2013. We received more than 300 comments. Thank you for your suggestions and opinions. We are reviewing the comments and working to finalize the questionnaire.
VA will announce how to sign up once the registry is available. We are working to meet the one-year time frame as required by a law signed Jan. 10, 2013.
The registry will keep Veterans informed about studies and treatments. It will also help VA to monitor the health conditions affecting Veterans. We will use the data to improve our programs to help Veterans with deployment exposure concerns.
If you are concerned about your exposure, talk to your health care provider or local VA Environmental Health Coordinator. read more>>>
