WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 10, 2013 - The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will kick off National VA Research Week on May 13, 2013, at the Washington, D.C., VA Medical Center. The national launch will be combined with the medical center’s own local kickoff event.To mark this year’s Research Week, May 13 – 17, VA sites nationwide will host activities such as poster exhibits, forums, technology displays, and laboratory tours. The events recognize the achievements of VA researchers and the efforts of Veterans who volunteer for studies. The theme of this year’s Research Week is “VA Research Inspires.” Information about the week can be found at: VA Research.
“VA Research plays a key role in improving health and advancing health care for America’s Veterans,” said Joel Kupersmith, M.D., VA’s chief research and development officer, who will moderate the kickoff event. “Research Week is an opportunity to highlight the accomplishments of our researchers and to showcase the partnerships that make this work possible.”
