Not all Va. Shore servicemen listed on memorial plaquesMay 28, 2013 - Robert M. Satchell grew up near Eastville, graduated from the segregated Northampton County High School and fought in the Korean War.
He never made it home, dying 60 years ago. His name also never made it to a memorial plaque in Eastville that claims to list all deaths from that and other wars.
His isn’t the only omission. Another county native, James Reid, was living in New Jersey when he entered the Army. He died in Korea, and a newspaper headline listed him as the first Northampton death of the war.
His remains were interred in Northampton, but he isn’t on the plaque, either. read more>>>
