The present Veterans Administration is the most pro-active one in my lifetime, lets keep it that way, as it always should have been! The Countries Responsibility is to Fully Fund!

“We are dealing with veterans, not procedures—with their problems, not ours.” —General Omar Bradley, First Administrator of the Veterans Administration

"If military action is worth our troops’ blood, it should be worth our treasure, too — not just in the abstract, but in the form of a specific ante by every American." -Andrew Rosenthal 10 Feb. 2013

“Why in 2009 were we still using paper?” VA Assistant Secretary Tommy Sowers “When we came in, there was no plan to change that; we’ve been operating on a six month wait for over a decade.” 27 March 2013

WHY? GOOD QUESTION THOSE SERVED SHOULD ANSWER!

Prior too this present Executive and Veterans Administrations and just touching on the problems:

Army Times Oct. 16, 2008 - VA claims found in piles to be shredded

CNN iReport October 25, 2008 - House Vets' Committee To Probe VA Shredder Scandal

Tampa Bay Times Oct 27, 2008 - Hundreds of VA documents improperly shredded, review finds {Tampa Bay Times search page and series of articles}

CBS News February 11, 2009 - Veterans' Claims Found in Shredder Bins

And more disturbing in relation to even before and through the early years of the Afghanistan, quickly abandoned missions of, and Iraq occupations, this:

ProPublica and The Seattle Times Nov. 9, 2012 - Lost to History: Missing War Records Complicate Benefit Claims by Iraq, Afghanistan Veterans
"DeLara's case is part of a much larger problem that has plagued the U.S. military since the 1990 Gulf War: a failure to create and maintain the types of field records that have documented American conflicts since the Revolutionary War."

Add in the issues of finally recognizing in War Theater and more Veterans, by this Veterans Administration and the Executive Administrations Cabinet, what the Country choose to ignore from our previous decades and wars of: The devastating effects on Test Vets and from PTS, Agent Orange, Homelessness, more recent the Desert Storm troops Gulf War Illnesses, Gulf War Exposures with the very recent affects from In-Theater Burn Pits and oh so so much more! Tens of Thousands of Veterans' that have been long ignored and maligned by previous VA's and the whole Country and through their representatives!

America's representative democracy, that "government of the people, by the people, for the people" - U.S. President Abraham Lincoln
How does a Country HONOR It's Fallen, by Their Own 'Sacrifice' in Taking Care of the Brothers and Sisters They Served With!!

These present wars have yet to be paid for, rubber stamping and rapid deficits rising started before 9/11 and continued with same for the wars. But especially in the early some six years of extremely little was added to the Veterans Administration budgets by those Congresses, and since obstructed by same war rubber stampers, as to the long term results of War, DeJa-Vu all over again. Keeping the VA under budgeted causes problems and of many grow worse, which costs more to correct much more, which is the goal of those seeking to privatize Government Agencies as they attack the people of and which was created by their own incompetence and ideologies, but doing those served will!

"You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today." - Abraham Lincoln

"To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow and his orphan" - President Lincoln

'chickenhawk' Leads the Vietnam Vet. Chuck Hagel Witch-Hunt

After 'NOT' asking questions about the Defense Department, the job of Defense Department Secretary former Sen. Hagel has been nominated to fill, and how he would lead the Pentagon and qualifications to do so along with Afghanistan, National Defense and Security, criminal terrorism, security at embassy's etc. etc. etc., a new laundry list of unrelated questions are brought forth to obstruct. And leading the obstruction, especially in the press reports, is the new freshman Senator from Texas.

And once we again hear from the newest little chickenhawk tepub, a rubber stamping lockstep walker for his seniors for sure. Who loves the nixonian spitting on veterans especially us Vietnam veterans:

Freshman Sen. Ted Cruz, T(R)-Texas, who opposes Hagel's nomination, had complained to his colleagues about the information the nominee provided during a closed meeting on Tuesday. Other Republicans raised objections to a vote."

Who at 42 aged out of voluntary recruitment into the Armed Services especially after 9/11 and these two rubber stamped, by the political party he states he belongs to, wars of choice. Who having all cheered on the abandoning of the main missions for even sending the military into that region, with the first drum beats pointed at Iraq, completely have forgotten neither war has been paid for and especially, DeJa-Vu all over again of the previous decades and wars of, nothing for the long term results of. Hell I don't think they even remember that the one abandoned, years back, is still ongoing as it's never mentioned especially when talking revenues.

on the kombat keyboard badge he's almost reached a second chickenhead, he's advancing rapidly in the ranks of.

They attacked Hagel with unrelated questions of long past statements etc., and like most congressional hearings, then wouldn't let him answer as they interrupted when he tried. Now, instead of asking in the many hours of the hearing or the individual private meetings previous, they say he hasn't answered a laundry list of other questions unrelated to the job appointed to fill. I'll bet the closed hearings were even worse then the publicly aired hearing.

Senate Democrats Delay Hagel Vote After Desperate And Unprecedented GOP Stall Tactics
Feb 6, 2013 - Senate Armed Services Committee chair Carl Levin (D-MI) will reportedly delay the committee’s vote on Chuck Hagel’s nomination to be the next Secretary of Defense. Republicans are demanding that Hagel produce the texts of private speeches he made and disclose the financial dealings of private companies he is associated with. A spokesperson for Levin told ThinkProgress that the committee is “working on their concerns.”

The vote was expected to take place as early as Thursday, but Republicans — led by Sens. James Inhofe (R-OK) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) — asked that the vote be delayed after Hagel — citing legal and logistics issues — said he could not give the them everything they’re asking for. read more>>>

This Cruz is making his mark early, bet he's thinking of a run for the top job in our government coming up in four years, and the press is going along with it and not calling him out. No surprise there, it's called journalism in the 21st century, started in the latter 20th, for many doing so and still called professionals. Without this technology we'd actually think we were getting real news reports from the normal sources of, the TV, the Newspapers, the Radio and from sources actually earning them big bucks and called anchors or lead writers.

Good thing for us in the Military Veterans Community, especially the service related injured brothers and sisters and especially those of our cheered on war theaters and long occupations, he wasn't placed on the U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs, but he does have a vote of continuing obstruction on Veterans issues that would be cast with his (T) breathern, and doing what he quickly learned to do, attack and take no answers!

I'd make another bet that he's not at all happy that Rubio was picked for the State of the Union tepublican response and not him as the breaking out of the gate as the new wonder boy. Especially after his attacks on Kerry and Hagel showing his macho patriotic bravado and the american warrior he is. He's a teabager dream politician, freedom, along with everything else, absolutely for free, and oh so tough talkin!
