So You say you're a 'patriot'!
So You say others aren't!
So You wave that flag then go home and go blank, you do know soldiers are still being sent into war don't you!
I could go on
We who served or those serving don't do so for an individual, nor for groups with successful needed organizations and struggling for funding from donations when You feel like contributing a few bucks and you can't do so with all, nor the dedicated volunteers at VA facilities and with the stand downs for the homeless vets and more, nor for flag wavers or flag waving parades or the welcome home ceremonies, attended by the few then out of site out of mind, nor for the many hollow symbols and words from those served especially the representatives of the people, nor for any political ideology. We do so for the Whole Country, right or wrong, especially if ordered into wars of choice, and we serve our brothers and sisters to protect them as they do us!
June 29, 2012 - With the 4th of July coming next week, we tell the story this week of an American who loves her country as much as anyone we know. For her, it's not about wearing her patriotism on her sleeves -- it's about rolling them up, as we learned, "On the Road."If you're a soldier arriving Landstuhl Hospital in Germany, chances are you didn't have time to pack. Which is why, once they're on the mend, a lot of these wounded warriors need Karen Grimord's packages.
They fill up a kind of commissary where everything is free -- shelves of clothing, blankets, and everyday necessities. They can pick up everything they need to make their stay more comfortable.
"It makes a tremendous difference for their morale," said Col. Luke Pittman.
Pittman told us the shelves of goods all come from donors -- much of it, believe it or not, from a single donor in Virginia -- a lone grandma in a two-car garage.
It's full of boxes, both packed and folded up.
"I need lots of boxes," says Karen Grimord. That much is obvious. read more>>>
The new 'magnetic ribbons', the 'parades' and 'welcome home celebrations', with no demand for sacrifice get same results, but 'parades' only last a few hours on one day! Think 'Desert Storm' and 'Gulf War Syndrome', Ignored till the last couple of years, finally, after the 'Parades'! Have the 'Welcome Home Parades' but at each the one word that should be spoke and on the minds of All, 'Sacrifice', Demand It, You Owe It!
No Revenues {nor private capital economic investments, free market capitalism} = No Sacrifice = No Support = DeJa-Vu all over again!. Now a decade and counting, told to go shopping, added to the previous decades of under funding the VA, while the peoples reps Still try and lay blame on the Agency, after rubber stamping wars and costs of and those represented cheer on these wars!
While the wealthy and other investors garner their booty, still, from both and many have the chutz·pa to call themselves more patriotic{?} then others wrapped in those false flags, using false slogans and various cheap symbols of and then seek one day events or parades to wave all that patriotism, call it "Supporting the Troops", then go home and either ignore or forget about those that actually sacrificed for the country!
USN '67-'71 All Shore GMG3 Vietnam In Country '70-'71
Great Respect for this Grandmother and the many others trying, but it's with a total sadness with rage, DeJa-Vu all over again, for the Country being served and it's apathy along with it's arrogance!!
