Jun 05th 2012 - Retired Colonel Alicia “Cissy” Rucker continues making changes at the beleaguered Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, after leading the agency for less than two weeks.Rucker fired the deputy director of the agency, after discovering he allowed the illegal collection of more than $580,000 in fees from disabled veterans. She says Lawrence Pickard apologized for not complying with federal law.
“I hated to lose my deputy. He had a wealth of knowledge and experience, but he did a very honorable thing by admitting his mistake,” said Rucker. “I respect the action that he took [in telling the truth], we will miss his experience, and I will miss his helping me along.”
Rucker says her chief goal is to streamline expenses and personnel costs so the agency can provide and meet the needs of veterans.
“We do not want to waste precious tax dollars. We have a limited amount of funding so we need to do the very best that we can,” said Rucker. read more>>>
You can find previous reports on this at this post I put up yesterday, as she sorts all this out. But once again, the country has yet to demand their own sacrifice for being served by the extremely few and their families, a decade plus now as to the present added to the previous decades of under funding the federal and state VA agencies!!
