05/05/12 - The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has news about employment and training opportunities for unemployed veterans.If you are an unemployed vet – of any age – then you have firsthand knowledge of the stories behind the numbers.

snip He notes that the Vow to Hire Heroes Act of 2011 was signed into law last November – and that one benefit from the law is the Veterans Retraining Assistance Program for unemployed veterans ages 35 to 60.
The program will begin accepting applications on May 15.
The program offers 12 months of training assistance to 99,000 eligible veterans. Those accepted will receive up to 12 months of training with full-time pay of $1,473 a month.
The Department of Labor will offer employment assistance to every veteran who participants or applies to the VRAP program. read more>>>
