Surprised, Not, as the Senate Veterans Affairs last committee hearing was this: "Joint Hearing on the legislative presentation of The American Legion on September 21 2011", and the next scheduled since is that: Hearing: "VA Mental Health Care: Addressing Wait Times and Access to Care" coming up on November 10 2011, while two wars continue. The House Veterans Affairs has held some hearings, most not related to extremely pressing issues and some pointedly held to lay blame on the agency they are required to fully fund, as the peoples representatives, and have obstructed, especially when controlled by tepubs, now for decades but especially the past decade whether in control or not!
Nov 4, 2011 - The leader of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee conceded Friday what had already become obvious: Congress will not pass a veterans’ employment bill by Veterans Day.Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., the committee chairwoman, said a compromise bill taking some ideas from the House, Senate and White House is being introduced in the Senate and will come up for a vote next week. If the Senate passes the measure — not a certainty — the bill would then go to the House, which has next week off and won’t return until Nov. 14 or 15.
Because of the schedule, Murray said it will be “impossible to pass by Veterans’ Day.”
Aides tried to paint this as a scheduling problem rather than a controversy, believing the deal that has been struck ultimately will be approved by the House and Senate. read more>>>
They, like the country they represent, stay stuck on the mentality of the magnetic ribbons of 'support' using words of same only!
