Even though we All know the people have no problem with Defense spending, except for a few grumbles now and then even when the reports ooze out as to corruption within the defense industry, but they really hate spending on those sent after they come home as to the results of war. Easier to just lay blame on the agency, even by the congressional critters charged with the budgets and oversite, gets them votes.
October 8 2011 - The war in Afghanistan alone costs $213,000 per minute, $112 billion per year. Think about that for a minute. Is your school system having trouble paying for necessary items and staff? How could this sum help?Is there a person qualified for college in your household who wishes to attend but can't afford the cost of those four years? How much of that cost would this sum cover?
Veterans' care for those who need it is extremely expensive. How much of that care would this sum cover?
I have been speaking with veterans of all ages lately and they, for the most part, feel that we should not be in Afghanistan wasting lives and money. They should know.
Aside from Afghanistan, the U.S. has more than 800 military bases around the globe and building more with a military presence in 128 countries. We are currently bombing six countries: Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia and Libya. We are making more terrorists daily with these actions.
Our government admits it cannot come up with an accounting for the money it spends on the military.
With our economy in shambles, the Commission of 12, six Republicans and six Democrats, all receiving campaign money from military contractors, is pushing to cut money for Social Security, health care and infrastructure. read more>>>
