We still have soldiers in two occupation theaters, the VA still is not what this Country should have built long ago, i.e. underfunded for decades and ignoring the veterans suffering on many issues through same time span, as it cheers on our wars of choice and so few serve including their families.
We finally have one of the few pro active VA administrations, trying and succeeding in doing what wasn't done as we wage these two wars as well as reaching back and taking on long standing issues for us older vets, especially in finally upgrading the records technology, yet they are still taking hits by Veterans, the Country and Especially the Countries Representatives, in both Houses of Congress, as in most cases that underfunding, especially with two wars ongoing, causes problems and delays in this Countries very important agency.
There has not been any hearings since the end of July in either house of congress. In August the reps took a month long vacation and for most of them it really was a vacation. There still is No Hearings scheduled in the Senate, there is a joint session with the House at end of month, for the month of September nor beyond, don't know if this has anything to do with Murray being on this phony waste of time and money 'Super Committee', related to Government spending cuts, possibly once again in the VA budget. If it is that's No Excuse!
And the Congressional House has two hearings scheduled but not till the end on the month. This is the subject of the first hearing and date: The Federal Recovery Coordination Program: Assessing Progress Toward Improvement Room 334 Cannon House Office Building Washington, DC | 09/20/2011 - 4:00pm, no description given at site page yet and a search brings up nothing as to 'federal recovery coordination program', late in the afternoon and apparently on the 'Recovery Act' spending related I assume to the VA. With the House under control of the tepublicans one can only assume it's going to have a negative atmosphere on the talking points of the 'Recovery Act' 'didn't create jobs' blah blah blah as the 'job creators',who reaped wealth off these wars and still are, still not creating jobs after a decade of cuts in taxes, Wrong, especially related to the VA, they did wonders with the little they got, some $1.8billion {more recent reports can be found on many different area's of and much more needs to be done}, finally from the Country sacrificing? without them realizing they did after a decade of not being asked to nor demanding to, and that's still ongoing, DeJa-Vu.
The second House hearing, is a joint hearing, and related to Veterans issues but not on what should be done, as to any, just a laundry list of a few of the many issues that should be investigated and legislation made, or once again ignored, and only coming from one Veterans group: Joint House and Senate Veterans' Affairs Committees Hearing to Receive Legislative Presentation of the American Legion Sep 21, 2011 | Hearing and you can bet, I will, there will be more bashing of the Veterans Administration and no demands for the Country to Sacrifice along with whatever is discussed being once again ignored, especially as the House has already tried a couple of times to cut the VA budget, still two wars of choice ongoing!
As those war profiteers who ordered are still profiteering and not only on books, as their wealthy class does also, directly or indirectly, and not taxed to boot!
No Sacrifice now a decade plus long added to the previous decades!!
They will see AND hear us in DC on October 6th.....
