They have yet to hold, or schedule, any House Veterans Affairs Committee meetings or hearings but they have the time to quickly go after the brother and sisters who have served the Country under the cloud of discrimination and silence! Looks like we're heading back into the 108th and 9th Congress faster then I thought, where nothing was done as they waged two more Wars of Choice!!
01/14/11 - A member of the House Armed Services Committee plans to introduce legislation next week designed to put the brakes on repeal of the military’s ban on openly gay troops.
The measure by Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) would add the four military service chiefs to the list of those who must sign off on repealing the policy before it can be officially scrapped.
Hunter, an Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran, is concerned that the bill passed in December repealing the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy “excluded the service chiefs from the certification process,” said one congressional aide. {continued}
I would suggest that Hunter take a walk down to the Mall and carefully look at the Memorials and see if he can pick out the gay or straight soldiers, or the names of the fallen of these two conflicts he served, in who's Memories the Memorials exist!
