One of the Many Needed Projects Shinseki has going Thanks to the Stimulus Monies, but these National Cemeteries should have already been and Funded by The People as to the budgets for the VA often cut or obstructed by the so called 'conservative' mentality, the People like it that way as you can see with many's opposition to the Facts of the Stimulus!!!!

The "National Shrine Project" is realigning 369 headstones, 600 flat markers and cleaning another 10,000 flat markers.
October 02, 2010 - Upon entering the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, it’s hard to miss the serene beauty of the place.
“The cemetery is one of the jewels of the National Cemetery Administration,” said cemetery director Roy Luera, a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force. “It’s hallowed ground.”
On Thursday, the cemetery began a renovation project to raise, realign and clean 369 upright headstones, raise and realign 600 flat markers, and clean 10,000 flat markers.
Over time, the forces of weather and settling soil cause some upright headstones to shift and become crooked, leaning away from National Cemetery Administration standards, Luera said.
“When we set the headstones those are supposed to represent servicemen standing up at attention,” he said. {read rest}
