Special Montgomery court helps veterans
June 18, 2010 A judge says that so far Montgomery's veterans court, the first such court in the state, is doing just what it was meant to do -- help vet erans deal with issues that affect them and help connect them with services that can help.
Members of a veterans medical center in the area approached Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Tracy McCooey about creating the veterans court, and McCooey helped officially start the court in April. The first veterans court was created in Buffalo, N.Y., in January 2008, and there are now 13 states that have them.
McCooey said the special court already has helped 19 veterans. Continued
So far I haven't seen any negative reports about these courts as they have now started opening around the country!
