In 2003 some 72% of Americans fully supported the Abandoning of the Missions and those Sent to Accomplish so extremely Quickly after 9/11!!
At least some 95%, if not more as less then 1% serve them, not only still support the, just below, total lack of Sacrifice, they ran from any and all Accountability and left everything still on the table to be continually used if the political/military want was still in play in future executive/legislative wants!!

Ask yourself: If the Veterans Administration is so corrupt and mismanaged, as the conservative ideology, under which the seeds of are planted when they control, wants everyone to buy into as they obstruct the budgets and do extremely little after they charge same, then why does the Private sector, many problems within rarely heard about, adopt so many practices and advanced technologies developed within the VA, for free?! The VA, DoD, and in partnership with Universities and Colleges, not just Health Care are constantly in R&D and that developed that works is quickly moved into the private, for profit, sector, even as the VA is long under funded, decades, and especially during and after our wars that the few are sent into!

Fact: "This is not just a job of government. It’s not just a job of the veterans’ organizations. Every American needs to join us in taking care of those who've taken care of us. Because only 1 percent of Americans may be fighting our wars, but 100 percent of Americans benefit from that 1 percent. A hundred percent need to be supporting our troops. A hundred percent need to be supporting our veterans. A hundred percent need to be supporting our military families."

Fact:
"We’ve been able to accomplish historic increases to veterans funding. We’ve protected veterans health care from Washington politics with advanced appropriations. We’ve been able to make VA benefits available to more than 2 million veterans who didn't have them before, including more Vietnam vets who were exposed to Agent Orange. We’ve dedicated major new resources for mental health care. We’ve helped more than 1 million veterans and their families pursue their education under the Post-9/11 GI Bill."

Bob Herbert Losing Our Way : "And then the staggering costs of these wars, which are borne by the taxpayers. I mean, one of the things that was insane was that, as we're at war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Bush administration cut taxes. This has never been done in American history. Blumenthal:

"I have made mistakes and I am sorry."

If he wins, and frankly I hope he does {this now becomes the old best of those running and nominated in that state}. he will be watched as to All Veterans Issues!!

Reportedly he's already been a strong advocate of veterans, though not holding an office his stature may have helped sway others who have or do, but that doesn't excuse the so called 'misstatements' that weren't! Now knowing he served in the Nixon Administration, at a time they were using Federal agencies and others to gather information on those of us returning from actual In-Country tours who were speaking out as well as those testifying to wars atrocities, maybe someday he might speak as to his roll or non roll, in that administration as to those issues, and he wouldn't be the only one that needs to, but I don't hold my breath!

May 23, 2010 It's the first apology from Blumenthal. He had said he regretted his misstatements and took responsibility for them after The New York Times reported last week that he wrongly said more than once that he served in Vietnam.

After nearly a week of criticism following revelations that he misrepresented his military record and five days after a press conference in which he expressed regret for his misstatements, Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Richard Blumenthal apologized.

"At times when I have sought to honor veterans, I have not been as clear or precise as I should have been about my service in the Marine Corps Reserves,'' Blumenthal said in a statement emailed to the Courant late Sunday by his spokeswoman, Maura Downes. "I have firmly and clearly expressed regret and taken responsibility for my words.

"I have made mistakes and I am sorry. I truly regret offending anyone,'' Blumenthal said. "I will always champion the cause of Connecticut's and our nation's veterans."

On Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the story broke, Blumenthal held a press conference at the Veterans of Foreign War hall in West Hartford and tried to put the issue to rest. He expressed regret for those occasions when he has "misspoken" about his service, but never uttered the words "I am sorry.''

The lack of an apology provided fresh fuel to his critics, with several veterans groups, Continued

Blumenthal apologizes, via e-mail, for saying he served in Vietnam War

What wasn't surprising, but would have been if it wasn't about Vietnam and those of us who served In-Country, is the readiness for those who, as himself, place a (D) after their names to readily jump in and excuse what he had been doing, once again throwing us Vietnam Veterans Under the Bus, so to speak. That's usually been done, especially for those of us who speak out on the failed policies and forth coming same, today ongoing once more as to wars of choice, by the other prominent political party while claiming they are the ones strong on national defense as they redily support creating more hatreds towards us and this country in our devastating invasions and occupations of others.

With the modern, and growing, technology it gets easier and easier to out the phonies, those who talk the game and even wearing the patches and jungle cammies of then, after it became fashionable years after the end of that debacle. But those seaking to be hired to any political office or are so called leaders of the business communities who 'misspeak?', not, should know you will be held accountable in some form.

Since the 110th Congress came in we finally started getting not only over-site of veterans issues but investigations and resolutions to what wasn't mentioned, by anyone including their supporters, during the previous two congresses and especially the previous administration as they all beat the drums of war in two occupations, abandoning one and it's goals of getting to those that attacked this country on nine eleven two thousand and one as well as helping the citizens of that country after once more reigning destruction on it's long suffering from wars country, and invaded and destroying a country and it's people for no cause but many false reasons!

We have a President who's been a strong advocate of us veterans of this country, especially through the first lady and the vice presidents wife, for not only us but the families of as well. We have a strong leader running the Veterans Administration who has brought in strong advocates into that agencies administration, not a political appointee nor political appointee's, who has been extremely busy trying to correct the long term problems as well as upgrade the technology, which causes the agency to continue playing catchup and correction which cost more, to surpass the early 21st century technology. He's even, because of the collapse of the economy, been able to force the country to actually sacrifice for it's veterans of it's wars of choice by using federal, private funding as to the free market economy all but non existent, stimulus funds to help upgrade the technology and record keeping, upgrade clinics and hospitals as well as start construction on new, upgrade, expand and build new federal cemeteries around the country and more!

So Blumenthal we will be watching, if you win, to see if you'll even be stronger as to veterans issues, Especially after this country once again strongly advocated the invasions and occupations of others while staying silent on the new group of veterans they were to create and created as well as their families!

By the way, even with the technology today, there needs to be much more than an e-mail apology, and this isn't about you but about us!
